What is PBX/Voip?

PBX/VoIP Phone Systems are business telephone systems that route calls through a private branch exchange (PBX) or a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) server. Both systems allow businesses to make and receive calls with the help of a telephone exchange.

PBX systems were the traditional way of routing calls through a private branch exchange. A PBX system uses a physical server to route and manage calls. VoIP systems use internet protocol to route calls over the internet. Both systems have their own set of features and benefits.

PBX systems are generally used at an enterprise level and require more maintenance than VoIP systems. VoIP systems are cost effective and can be more easily scalable suited for medium to large call centers.
